Delivering Results for Brampton

Strong partnerships deliver real results. Over the past four years, Council has worked collaboratively through the city budget and with our Provincial Government to advocate for Brampton’s second hospital. By speaking with one voice and consistently pushing for investment, Council helped secure progress toward expanded hospital capacity, new healthcare infrastructure and improved access to the services our growing community needs.

The Provincial Government committed an unprecedented $2.3 billion towards Brampton’s second hospital at the Peel Memorial site.
The City of Brampton budgeted $81.1 million in reserves and $4.9 million in levies dedicated to supporting the transformation of Peel Memorial.
Hockey Night in Brampton continues to grow as one of Canada’s most impactful charity hockey events with community support and corporate sponsors helping to raise over $20 million for the William Osler Health System in support of the new hospital.
Brampton officially welcomed the first class of students to Toronto Metropolitan University’s (TMU) School of Medicine. The city earmarked millions to expand the school as it positions the city as a leading hub for health care education and innovation. TMU is the GT.
