I know that a strong transit network supports new housing, improves connectivity, attracts businesses, reduces congestion, supports growth and is key to a better environment.
Over the past four years our council committed to providing efficient, affordable and sustainable transit, and I will continue to advocate to various levels of government and make this a priority.

Our council secured federal and provincial funding regarding the advancement of the Hazel McCallion Light Rail Transit (LRT) Extension into downtown Brampton via the development of a rapid transit tunnel. This four-kilometre extension brings the LRT into downtown Brampton, creating a direct connection to the city’s core and improving transit access for residents and businesses.
Advocated for funding towards the Queen Street-Highway 7 Bus Rapid Transit (BRT), which would create a crucial east-to-west transit spine connecting the Downtown Brampton Transit Hub and the Vaughan Metropolitan Centre.
Implemented free public transit for residents aged 65 and older.
Launched the Argo pilot program which is a fully electric public mobility solution that connects to the existing Brampton Transit network with on-demand service in the downtown area.
The city partnered with Zenobē, a global fleet electrification and battery storage specialist headquartered in London UK, to fully electrify Brampton Transit's bus fleet over the next 10 years. This is not only the largest zero-emission transit initiative in Canada but will be cutting corporate greenhouse gas emissions significantly.
